Good News about the Monarch Butterflies!

If Japanese beetles, crazy worms, and spotted wing fruit flies are making you depressed, there is actually some good news involving invertebrates.  Observers in Mexico report that the population of monarchs has increased.  Read more about it here.

Look for "MAMGA-Madison Area Master Gardeners" on Facebook!

Yes, MAMGA is on Facebook.  It's listed as Madison Area Master Gardener Association.  "Like" us and we will be your friend.  This is an easy way to post announcements and photos.  We have a moderator so expect a short delay between your posting and its appearance on the site.

Stylish MAMGAwear is still available!

MAMGA is raising funds and increasing its visibility by selling locally printed T-shirts, caps, hoodies and shopping totes with the MAMGA logo.  Items will be available at major MAMGA events.  Show off your Master Gardener status.  Buy them for friends and family.

Items will be available for purchase at the annual meeting or by mail.  Print the order form, fill in, and mail to:  Victoria Robertson, 5675 Ashbourne Lane, Fitchburg, WI. 53711.  An email confirmation and delivery options will be sent once the order form is received.

What Goes Where?

Here's a quick summary of where your master gardener-related materials go:

MAMGA's Post Office Box 259318 gets:

     - annual meeting reservations;

   - 2017 membership renewal due November 15.  Make renewal checks out to MAMGA.  Include $5 added to the total for WIMGA membership and send a single check.

You can join MAMGA once you have completed master gardener training successfully.  Students in Dane County's master gardener program are MAMGA members.  If your certification lapses for a year or more, you can still join MAMGA.  We can provide advice and opportunities to re-certify.  We strongly encourage maintaining certification and we help by making it easy-to-do.

Dane Co/UW Extension 5201 Fen Oak Court gets the MGV Hours reports due October 1 each year.  The report is used to determine certification as a master gardener for the following year.  Certification cards are sent out in late winter.

Think:  Certification hours = Dane Co/Extension!

Sending materials to the wrong location will delay processing. Thank you!
